F.A.Q's about Alisha Khan Photography

Did you know?

What is your photography style?

First and foremost, I like to call myself as a storyteller, shaping narratives through my lens. My approach leans heavily towards a documentary style, capturing candid moments and genuine emotions, while incorporating editorial elements to enhance your wedding portraits.

My artistic preferences include a fondness for shadows and silhouettes, an appreciation for movement, a penchant for grain, an affinity for deep tones, and a love for warm tones —all elements that contribute to creating images that evoke genuine emotions.

How far in advance do we need to book?

To avoid disappointment and guarantee my availability for your special day, it's advisable to reach out as early as possible. Once you're certain that I'm the right photographer for you, completing the booking promptly is the key. This involves submitting a signed contract along with a retainer to officially reserve your date. Your proactive approach will help streamline the process and ensure a smooth experience leading up to your wedding.

Can we ask you to tentatively hold a date for us?

All dates are based on first come, first serve. No date is booked until a retainer & signed contract is received.

Do you travel for weddings?

YES! We love road trips and even hot destinations: We are located in the Lower Mainland, BC, but are open to travel anywhere (Applicable rates, plus we have a valid passport ) Contact us for a full consultation!

Are Engagement Sessions or Pre-Wedding Sessions included in your packages?

Yes! All of our carefully curated packages include an one hour session with me prior to the wedding day! We believe that its important to get to know your photographer and their style - this way you can connect and build a rapport plus you get some gorgeous photos!

What is your cancellation policy?

In the event that the client wishes to cancel the booked wedding photography services, they must provide written notification to the photographer as soon as possible. Notification should be sent via email or registered mail to the contact information provided by the photographer.

Upon cancellation, the client understands and agrees to forfeit the initial deposit made to secure the booking. Additionally, if the cancellation occurs within [30 days] of the scheduled wedding date, the client shall be liable to pay a cancellation fee equivalent to [50%] of the total agreed-upon fee for the photography services.

What types of Photography do you offer?

My main type of photography is Weddings & Engagement however I am prepping 2024 for Personal Branding photoshoots! (Coming Feb 2024)

How long will it take to get my photos?

We offer a sneak peek of images within one week following the wedding day. The complete galleries will be made available within six weeks for standard weddings. For Indian or multi-day events, galleries will be ready within eight weeks.

What happens if you get sick or injured & cannot photograph our Wedding?

In the unlikely event that unforeseen circumstances prevent me from photographing your wedding, rest assured that I have backup photographers ready to step in and capture your special day. However, all editing will remain under the responsibility of AKP.

Do I get the copy right to my photographs?

As the photographer, I retain the copyright to all photographs taken during your wedding. However, I provide you with a personal usage license that allows you to print, share, and use the images for non-commercial purposes. This means you can make prints, share them on social media, and use them for personal use without any additional fees or permissions.

Do I get RAW format to my photographs?

As a standard practice, I do not provide RAW format files to clients. The RAW files are essentially the digital negatives of the photographs, containing unprocessed data straight from the camera sensor.

My editing process is a crucial part of delivering the final, polished look that aligns with my artistic vision and style. Providing RAW files would not only compromise the integrity of my work but also the overall consistency and quality of the final images.

Rest assured, I am committed to delivering high-quality edited JPEG or other agreed-upon formats that showcase the best moments of your special day. If you have specific requests or concerns regarding image formats, please feel free to discuss them with me, and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.

How many photos would I get?

The number of photos you will receive depends on various factors, including the length of your wedding, the number of events, and the package you have selected. As a general guideline, you can expect to receive a minimum of 50 edited photos per hour of coverage. This number may vary depending on the flow of events, the number of guests, and other factors that influence the quantity of captured moments.
